Judith Slavin-Cosel
Judi Slavin-Cosel was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1977. She became an assistant District Attorney with the Lake County Prosecutor's offices in Painesville, Ohio.
After years of dealing with criminals and inclement weather, she made the switch to sunny California. Judi was admitted to the California State Bar in 1982. After several years of civil litigation, she decided to devote her career and expertise to workers' compensation law.
She opened her workers' compensation and employment law practice in 1999. She has successfully handled many trials for both defense and applicant clients. She has also served as a Judge Pro Tem at the Anaheim Workers Compensation Appeals Board.
Her firm handles cases involving workers compensation, wrongful termination, discrimination and wage and hour issues as well as subrogation and personal injury matters.
William Steiner
William "Bill" Steiner is a California State Bar certified specialist in workers' compensation law. He has experience in both workers' compensation and civil litigation, emphasizing employment law and appeals.
He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1973 and served as associate counsel for several defense firms as well as house counsel for an insurance company. Bill served two years as an Administrative Law Judge on a part time basis. He also has several published appellate decisions.
He is fully bilingual in Spanish and brings a rich diversity of legal experience to each case he handles.
Robert Mendoza
Robert "Bob" Mendoza was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. His initial experience in law was with a summer internship in the Orange County District Attorney's office. He then went on to work for several law firms that handled civil personal injury matters on both the plaintiff and defense side. He also worked in the field of products liability.
In the year 2000, he decided to bring his expertise to the workers' compensation field. He is adept at both civil litigation and workers compensation law.
James Marquez
James Marquez is the assistant to Judi at her law firm. He also supervises the office and oversees all office functions. James' training and many years of experience in quality control enable him to develop and implement rigorous standards and procedures for the firm. He has been with the Law Offices of Judith Slavin-Cosel for over ten years.
He is currently pursuing his master's degree in psychology. In his spare time, James enjoys playing sports such as squash, racquetball and boxing.
Connie Murillo
Connie Murillo worked for a large third party administrator as a claims assistant for several years. She then switched to our firm to handle secretarial duties. She has been with the firm over eight years.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching boxing on TV and spending time with her family. Connie is also an active volunteer in her community.
